Apple Contract With Volkswagen To Develop Autonomous Vehicle After Getting Refused By BMW and Mercedes

Autonomous Vehicle: Apple Inc. has decided to develop fully autonomous self-driving vehicles. Previously, their plan got refused by BMW and Mercedes because of some security and certification issues. However, the company has recently claimed that they have signed a contract with the well-known German four-wheeler manufacturer, Volkswagen to produce completely self-ruling autonomous vehicles. In previous reports, we have heard many things about the development plans of the future autonomous vehicle by Apple Inc, but now it’s confirmed that the company will soon start the implementation of the project.

On past Friday, Apple claimed that they have contracted an agreement with German manufacturer Volkswagen to transform few of the company’s latest T6 Transporter vans into Apple self-driving shuttle program just for operators. Apple has employed a large group of peoples to accomplish its self-driving shuttle program which is under working for a long period now. It has undergone many serious difficulties in past months which we heard in reports. Apple has reached many other four-wheeler manufacturers like BMW and Mercedes before contracting with Volkswagen. Earlier, the company has experienced many issues relating to this program.

Apple Inc. is focusing more on self-driving shuttle program these days as to beat the self-driving car space declared by the tech-giant Google. Google’s driverless car Waymo, self-driving car project and the revamped attention of BlackBerry on self-driving cars have motivated Apple to progress. Many other tech giants including Google and Apple are working actively on testing self-driving means on open streets. They have been working on this project for many years for a rapid introduction.

Uber was also developing an impressive concept of self-driving vehicles, but a recent report broked all the expectations. Uber declared that they will have to halt its autonomous operations in Arizona because of the collision which happened earlier. In the unfortunate accident, a pedestrian was killed and the case is still not solved. The halt resulted in dismissing of up to 300 operators. In the meantime, many other automotive makers have gathered comprehensive information on the self-driving concept to develop a more advanced technology vehicle.

In the year 2014, Apple started its autonomous project as Titan and T172. Earlier, the company has decided to develop a car which will change the thinking of the worldwide automotive market. Like their unique iOS platform, they have thought to make something bigger than the iPhones and iMacs. The future autonomous electric vehicle of Apple will be a luxurious vehicle with an extravagance interior compartment and loads of technical features. Last year, the company thought of investing a huge amount to establish EV battery manufacturing and testing units in their Cupertino California plant. However, it was tough to implement that idea. So, at present, they are focusing on the existing shuttle program.
