The long-awaited All-new 2019 Honda Civic is uncovering in March 2019. Honda has confirmed the launch of new Civic in March 2019. We hope to get an exact date from Honda in the upcoming weeks. But first, let’s go through the details about the upcoming civic.
The all-new Honda Civic is not anything like the one sold in India a few years back. The latest generation Civic features an angular design inspired by the latest gen Honda Accord. This is the 10th gen Civic, Honda has skipped the 9th gen for India.
The new Honda Civic was also showcased in 2018 Auto Expo India. This time the New Civic will also offer a diesel mill, which was one of the major shortcomings of the Old Civic. The new Civic gets the LED treatment all over, LED DRL, LED headlight as well as LED tail lamp. It gets 17-inch alloy wheels, a sunroof and an integrated spoiler.
The Old Honda Civic has the interior ahead of its time when it was launched with funky digital and analogue combination, the New Honda Civic gets a large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto, it gets leather seats, cruise control and wireless charging. Honda will offer 6-airbags, ABS with EBD.
Coming to the heart of the Car the new Honda Civic will get both Petrol and Diesel engines. The petrol engine will be a 1.8L i-VTEC which is expected to make around 140bhp and 174Nm of torque, it will come mated to a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic. The diesel mill is the same as we have seen on the new CR-V. The 1.6-litre EarthDreams engine will make around 120bhp and 300Nm of torque, it will get manual and automatic gear options.
It will arrive in India through CKD (completely knocked down) unit, to keep the price competitive. Honda’s Greater Noida plant will assemble the Honda Civic.
There’s a long gap between Honda City and the Honda Accord, and new Honda Civic just plans to fill that out. Now with the diesel option, the Civic seems to have all the right boxes checked. The new Honda Civic is expected to be priced around Rs 19 lakh (ex-showroom). When launched it will compete against Hyundai Elantra & Skoda Octavia.
