Wait for the 5th generation Honda City is almost over, delayed by the COVID-19 situation, now Honda is all set to launch the new Honda City next month. While we have already shared the variants, engines and even some of the features of the car. Now we have official photos and features list as the car is listed on Honda’s website.
First and foremost is the new platform, the fifth generation Honda City is now 109mm longer, 53mm wider and 6mm lower in height. The wheelbase remains the same at 2,600mm. The new platform gets ultra high strength steel, reducing weight and increasing rigidity. The design also looks much smarter than before, it gets Full LED headlamps with LED DRLs and L-shaped turn indicator, and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. At the rear LED treatment continues with Z-shaped tail lamps.
Interior is finished in beige and black. The inside of the car is loaded with features such as Beige leather seat, rear AC vent, electric sunroof, 8-inch touchscreen unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Even the instrument cluster is now a 7-inch digital colour unit. Other features include paddle shifters, automatic headlights and ambient lighting.
New Honda City will be the first car to get inbuilt Alexa Remote Capability. Which means you can access the total of 32 connected features. Safety aspects are also well covered with 6 airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Agile Handling Assist(AHA), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), lane watch camera, all these helped the City to get 5 stars rating ASEAN NCAP.
Powering the new Honda City will be the 1.5L, petrol motor which makes 119 bhp and 145Nm of torque, it will come mated to a 6-speed manual and 7-speed CVT. Another option will be the 1.5L Diesel motor which makes around 99bhp and 200Nm of torque. It will be paired to a 6-speed manual.
When launched Honda Cty fifth generation will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Toyota Yaris, Skoda Rapid and Volkswagen Vento.
