Few weeks back Tata Motors had showcased the first model of the Harrier SUV to be engineered at the company’s facility in Pune. Moreover, the Tata motors had also revealed the exterior images of the all new Harrier SUV. However, the interior of the SUV was covered. Now Tata has removed the curtain over the interior of the SUV. The breathtaking feature is the large touch screen infotainment system in the cockpit. The all new Harrier SUV is developed based on the H5X concept showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo.
The all new Tata Harrier SUV is based on the Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced [OMEGA] which is obtained from the Land Rover’s D8 architecture. The spy shots of the interior reveal that Tata has provided the SUV with upmarket designs and features in order to make the cabin a highly premium one. The all new Tata Harrier SUV is sufficiently spacious and comfortable. Tata will offer the new SUV with two tone colour option with brown quilted seats and door side inserts.
The key highlighting element in the cabin in the large touch screen Harman infotainment system installed with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The interior may get an eight speaker audio. The dashboard gets fitted on the centre console. The dashboard is finished in gloss with the silver trim running across the length on the lower section. These similar silver trims are seen on the gear level, steering wheel with integrated controls and along the central stack. The multi info display present in the middle has blue background. The instrument cluster features analogue speedometer and tachometer. From the spy images, the handbrake and cup holder section is visible behind the centre stack. The key fob hints at the presence of boot release button.
Powering the upcoming Tata Harrier SUV is a 2.0 litre kryotec four cylinder diesel engine, which makes a power of 140 hp. A six speed manual or a Hyundai sourced torque converter AT comes paired to the engine. The Tata Harrier SUV will be offered with multiple driving modes along with rotary dial selection, high ground clearance and water wading capability. Once launched, the Tata Harrier SUV will compete on the likes of Jeep Compass and Hyundai Creta.
