The adventure tourer Ducati Multistrada 1260 and 1260 S have been recently launched in India. The company has decided to keep the introductory prices as the standard for all of 2018, and the D-Air and the Pikes Peak will be released later.
The Multistrada 1260 and 1260 S both draws power from a Testastreta DVT with Desmodromic Variable Timing, L-Twin cylinder, 4 valves per cylinder, Dual Spark, liquid cooled 1262 cc engine which churns out 158 Ps at 9000 rpm and 129.5 Nm torque at 7500 rpm. The engine is mated to a six speed transmission system. The bore is 106 mm and the stroke is 71.5 mm. The compression ratio is 13:1. There are disc brakes in the front and rear.
The bike have a tubular steel trellis frame. The wheelbase is 1585 mm. The kerb weight is 232 kgs for the 1260 and 235 kgs for the 1260 S and the fuel tank capacity is 20 liters for both the variants. The Multistrada rides on Pireli Scorpion Trail II tubeless tyres with specifications, 120/70-R17 for the front and 190/55-R17 for the rear. The suspension duties are handled by 48 mm adjustable forks in the front and fully adjustable monoshock unit in the rear.
Vehicle Hold Control (VHC), Riding Mode, Power Mode, Ducati Safety Pack (Cornering ABS Bosch + DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), Cruise control, Hands-Free, Backlit handlebar controls, Ducati Multimedia System (DMS) ready, Automatic indicator switch off, and Anti-theft ready system are available in the 1260. Where as the 1260 S comes equipped with technologies like Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) Evo, Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) up/down, colour TFT display, Full LED light, and Ducati Cornering Lights along with all the features of the Multistrada 1260. Both the Multistradas have adjustable seat height from 825 mm to 845 mm. The fuel consumption is 52 liter per 100 kms.

The Ducati Multistrada 1260 is priced at Rs. 15.99 lakhs and the 1260 S is priced at Rs. 18.04 lakhs. Both the Multistrada 1260 and 1260 s are available in the Ducati red colour. The 1260 S is also available in Volcano Grey and Iceberg white.
