Suzuki has launched Access 125 Drum Brake variant in India. The updated scooter is introduced with Combi-Braking System (CBS). Access 125 is one of the most popular scooters of the company. The reason for releasing the all-new variant is the new safety norm which will come into impact from April this year. The modification has also resulted in a price increase.
The standard Access 125 is available at a price tag of Rs.55,977 whereas, the new CBS variant is introduced at Rs.56,667. The company will not replace the non-CBS variant from the Indian market. Although, the sales will stop after April this year. According to the new norm, CBS is mandatory for all 125cc two-wheelers. All other features and specifications remain unchanged. The Suzuki Access 125 holds a record of selling 40,000 unit per month. In December 2018, Suzuki successfully sold approx 52,354 units of the Access 125 in India.
Combined brakes assist to maintain a great balance among front and rear brake forces that lessens the braking distance in a critical road condition. The all-new Access looks sporty with chrome detailing, 3D emblem logo and stylish body chassis. The scooter features Suzuki Easy Start System, multi-function instrument cluster with digital display, front pocket, optional DC socket, and sits on alloy wheels.
The modern scooter is available in six exciting shades: Pearl Suzuki Deep Blue No.2, Candy Sonoma Red, Pearl Mirage White, Metallic Matt Fibroin Gray, Metallic Sonic Silver (YD8) and Glass Sparkle Black. In terms of dimension, the two-wheeler is 1,870 mm in length, 655 mm in width, and 1,160 mm in height. The wheelbase and ground clearance remains 1,265 mm and 160 mm, respectively. The kerb weight of the scooter is 101 kg.
The 2019 Access 125 runs on 125cc air-cooled engine which generates 8.4bhp of power and 10.2Nm of torque. The engine of this scooter is inspired by Burgman Street. It is developed with a fuel tank capacity of 5.6-litres. The company claims mileage at 60km/l. The modified Access 125 rival against the likes of Honda Activa 125, Hero Destini 125 and TVS NTorq 125.
