Its a day after Diwali, and Tata Motors have some dhamaka still in store after the Harrier SUV release. A series of spyshots in Coimbatore have revealed their latest hatchback, 45X premium, which is almost in a production ready state. The images were taken when it was getting refilled at a Petrol Pump. The Baleno and i20 rival was seen running camouflaged in the South Indian state. The manufacturer Tata Motors is coming up with high expectations for its customers. The concept of the hatchback was showcased at the Auto Expo 2018 and is based on the IMPACT design 2.0 philosophy.
The spyshots provide sneak peaks of a twin pot headlamp setup with projectors accompanied by a high mounted fog lamp and LED taillamps. The alloy wheels spotted on the four wheeler are 15/16 inch and multi spoked. The shoulder line of the automobile is pretty much prominent and the sloping roofline is just perfect. The width of the front air dam is quite commendable. There is also a wash wipe on the rear and the number plate has found its place on the bumper. Just like the recent cars of the Tata Motors the hatchback also will be loaded with features, and we hope it continues in future.
The 45X hatchback will most probably be called the Aquilla. The engine specifications are also confirmed but it might draw its power from the BS6 ready engine lineup, including the 1.2 L Revotron Petrol, giving an output of 90 Ps power. The transmission options won’t be limited to a 6 speed manual one as the company is working on a dual clutch automatic one as well. A mild hybrid technology can also be expected as one of the hatchback’s variants to reach an equal ground with Maruti Suzuki cars. What we can actually confirm is the presence of a JTP performance spec variant like Tiago and Tigor cars. It will not b delusional to expect a sedan version of the same in the upcoming years.
This is Tata Motor’s first car in the premium hatchback segment. This will make it fall in line with Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20 and Honda Jazz. Price of the car will be within the range of rest of its competitors.
