Maruti Suzuki India Limited is doing whatever it takes to be on the top in hatchback segment and this time also Maruti Suzuki has maintained to catch the eyeballs by launching it’s all new 3rd generation Maruti Suzuki Swift 2018. The new car has been designed on new platform called “Heartect”. On the very first sight, you can feel freshness in design and it was necessary to give the car a refreshing look due to rising competition and high customer expectations from the company.
Let’s talk about the looks first. Maruti Suzuki has made a lot of effort to make Swift Differentiate from Dzire. However, headlamps and interiors make us remind of Dzire. Daytime running light (DRL) mounted on the newly designed bumper are making the car more appealing than ever. The new Swift has given up the Chrome surrounding at front grille and the car looks sporty with single piece matte black grille. Wrapped around taillights are complementing the new design up front. MSIL has tried to do something new by placing rear door handle at the top of the door which can be little un-comfortable from consumer perspective. Although they look nicely integrated and has already been available with Cars like Beat and KUV1oo.
Company has presented the new offering with colours like dark midnight blue, dark grey, white, silver, and the trademark solid red and Lucent Orange. The all new swift boasts of having great numbers as compared to its predecessor when it comes to specifications. New Maruti Suzuki swift is having around 58 litres of more boot space(268 litres) due to 20 mm(2450mm length) longer wheelbase yet the company has managed to keep the new swift 10 mm short than the older version (thanks to the HEARTECT platform). ZDi plus and ZXi plus, which are the top variant of new swift have been equipped with diamond cut 15” alloy wheels.
Company has launched the both Petrol and Diesel variants with fuel tank capacity of 37 litres. In Diesel variant, new swift is powered with 1248cc 4-cylinder turbocharged engine which generates maximum torque of [email protected] 2000rpm with maximum power of 74 bhp @ 4000 rpm. Whereas the Petrol variant comes with 1197cc 4-cylinder petrol engine which generates maximum torque of [email protected] with maximum power of 82 bhp @ 6000 rpm and in both the variants power is transmitted through 5-speed manual and Automatic Manual Transmission gearbox. As per ARAI, company claims to have the mileage of 22 kmpl in petrol variant and 28.4 kmpl in diesel variant. The company has achieved these higher performance numbers due the weight loss of almost 80 kgs. The Performance of new swift will not disappoint to its new customers.
The new Swift is available with a price of Rs. 4.99 lakh (for petrol variant) and goes upto Rs. 7.29 lakhs. For Diesel variant one has to pay between Rs. 5.99 lakh to Rs. 8.29 lakh (depending upon the variant). Prices are almost same as compared to the older version of swift.
