Kia has officially revealed its all-new 2021 Kia Carnival. The minivan is scheduled to be showcased later in 2020 or early 2021. The company has earlier revealed the teaser in terms of the sketch. In the recent images, the vehicle looks stunning with its huge frame. The carmaker hasn’t revealed all the specifications of the upcoming model.
The model is also available as the Kia Sedona in the global market. It is longer and more spacious compared to the previous model. It gets a complete SUVish treatment that makes it attractive looking. At the front, the car gets the company’s latest ‘Tiger Nose’ grille highlighted with chrome elements and the new split LED headlamps set up. The front is flaunted by modern LED DRLs as well.
The new-gen model is developed with bold front and A-pillar, widened wheel arches combined with dual-tone alloy wheels. From the side, the new Carnival looks husky and attractive. It comes with striking elements all over the chassis. At the backside, the Carnival is installed with new connected LED tail lamps. The front also includes lower air intake and a lower bumper.
The company needs to modify the existing model as it has been selling since 2014. The car requires some fresh elements to fulfil the demands of customers looking for a stylish and modern car. Compared to Kia’s existing range, the modification was required for the Carnival. As said by the company, the ‘Grand Utility Vehicle’ gets ‘island roof’ layout highlighted with all-black A- and B-pillars. It gets chrome fin and diamond trim on the C-pillar.
The 2021 Kia Carnival will be a feature-loaded ca, which will include sliding electric rear doors, UVO connected car technology, a new sunroof, and tri-zone climate control. The interior will be more spacious and comfortable with ideal seating including ventilated front seats. The display will support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It will also feature ambient lighting inside the cabin.
In the Indian market will be a 9-seater variant. The new Carnival is powered by a BS6-compliant 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that will be capable of making 197bhp of max power and 440Nm of peak torque. The engine is combined with an 8-speed TC automatic transmission. The company has tied up with Hyundai to built the powertrain.
In terms of safety, the new Carnival is loaded with multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors and electronic stability control. The Indian automotive market is likely to get the fouth-gen model in 2022. It will get a price hike compared to the existing model sold at Rs 24.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The existing model competes against the likes of Toyota Innova Crysta.
