Kawasaki India knows a thing or two about aggressive pricing their vehicles. While everybody was waiting for the new Z900 and the expected price was around 8-9 Lakh, Kawasaki launched the bike at just Rs 7.99 Lakh. Compared to the old Z900, this bike gets a lot of new features, while it is the same as the Z900 special edition Kawasaki launched a while ago, except the BS6 compliant engine.
The major change or one of the highlights of the new 2021 Z900 is the host of electronics it comes with. As you might remember the older Z900 only came with ABS and no other electronic tricks to tame all that power. While some people loved the raw feeling, most of them wanted all the features offered in the segment.
Well now, Z900 comes with KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control), Two power modes (Low and High), in low power mode you will only get 55% of the power. It also offers 3 riding modes – Sport, Road, Rain, and a manual mode for individual selection. The bike also features a full LED headlamps along with LED position lamps. Finally, Kawasaki offers LED turn indicators that go with the overall styling of the vehicle.
The instrument cluster has been changed to a full digital TFT color display which offers various features along with Bluetooth connectivity. Connecting through “RIDEOLOGY THE APP,” you can access various features. Everything else remains like the previous version for good like the Sugomi inspired styling, crouching stance, and low position headlamp to give it that aggressive streetfighter look.
Powering the bike is the same 948cc Liquid-cooled, 4-stroke In-Line Four engine which makes 125 PS at 9,500rpm and 98.6Nm of torque at 7,700rpm, the engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The handing is now better with new tires from Dunlop called the Sportmax Roadsport 2. The bike is available in two shades – Metallic Graphite Gray and Candy Lime Green. At Rs 7.99 Lakh (ex-showroom), with all these new features and BS6 compliant engine it is only Rs 29,000 more than the previous version.
