New spy images show the 2020 SsangYong Tivoli in flesh without camouflage. This car also underpins the Mahindra XUV 300 which is currently on sale in the country. The more interesting detail from the spy images is that the test mule is also a left hand drive. It was seen driving down the Salem-Coimbatore highway.
The 2020 refresh sports many changes over the outgoing model. The front is completely redesigned. The front end also gets new LED daytime running lights and a new grille. We can also see a new dual tone bumper design which houses the fog lamps. The ORVMs feature integrated turn signals. The new design draws its inspiration from the SsangYong Korando.
In the international market, the Tivoli gets a 1.2 liter turbo charged petrol engine. This motor is capable of producing 161bhp. This is a very big boost compared to the older 1.6 liter unit which produces just 129bhp. We can already see this engine on the Mahindra XUV 300. But that is in a different state of tune, producing 110bhp and 200Nm torque.
It is unsure at this point of time if the 2020 SsangYong Tivoli will make it to the Indian market in the near future. The Mahindra XUV 300 is its closest sibling and is already on sale. The LHD test mule also suggests that this is an international model being tested in India with the collaboration of Mahindra. The car is mainly for the European markets. This updated variant is expected to go on sale by the end of this year.
