Nissan has finally unwrapped the Kicks facelift in Thailand. It is the first country to get the new model and second to deliver the e-Power hybrid powertrain adopted by the car. The all-new SUV launched at 8,89,000 Baht (approximately Rs 21 lakh). The Nissan Kicks e-Power is available in four variants: S, E, V and VL. The mid specs SUV will be somewhat different when introduced in the Indian market.
Nissan has developed the new Kicks facelift in the new designing platform. It gets more stylish design along with up to date features and technology. The Japanese automotive maker has been spotted testing many times. The design was partially revealed earlier. Although, we have complete details on the features and design of the facelifted model.
The spy shots of the SUV was reported during the current lockdown period which has already indicated launch. Many car makers were waiting for the COVID-19 situation to solve. However, it seems that the companies have to work with it after noticing a huge loss in the last two months. Back to the compact SUV, it gets bold and attractive front facia. It gets a bigger V-shaped grille at the front highlighted with new headlamps and LED DRLs.
The Kicks facelift’s headlap setup is more energetic and narrower. It gets a striking front bumper along with extended side air intakes located in the edges. It is also designed with new fog lamps, floating roof, all-black C-pillars and a dual-tone shade. At the rear, it is equipped with a new bumper, broader faux diffuser segment, and boomerang-shaped taillights set up. It sits on all-new 5-spoke alloy wheels.
In terms of dimension, the car is 4,290 mm in length, 1,760 mm in width and 1,615 mm in height along with a wheelbase of 2,615 mm. The dash features black-orange leather upholstery, door pads, dual-zone climate control, and comfortable seats. It also gets a new gear-lever section, an 8-inch Nissan Connect infotainment touchscreen system which supports Apple CarPlay along with 7-inch digital instrument cluster screen.
In terms of safety under the company’s Intelligent Mobility standard, the updated Kicks gets six airbags, ABS, EBD, BA, Vehicle Dynamic Control, Hill Start Assist, Isofix child seat anchors, Intelligent Cruise Control, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Around View Monitor, emergency braking, Intelligent Ride Control, Moving Object Detection, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Driver Attention Alert, Intelligent Trace Control, a digital rearview mirror and Blind Spot Warning.
The e-Power series hybrid engine will be a great change to the model. It is offered with 1.57 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that is capable of making 127 bhp of power and 260 Nm. The Thailand specs model is available in six attractive shades: Black Star, Brilliant Silver, Monarch Orange, Radiant Red, Gun Metallic (grey) and Storm White. The company also offers black roof options for four colour variants. It rival against the likes of Toyota C-HR Hybrid.
