The latest spy shots of Mahindra Thar has surfaced online which reveals more details about the vehicle. Surely, the Indian automotive market will notice some impressive models after the current COVID-19 lockdown. The companies are waiting for the situation to calm down. Revealing the models now might harm the sales numbers. Till then, the companies are gearing up to launch models.
The all-new off-roader was expected to launch in April. The fans are excitedly waiting for the carmaker to reveal the details officially for the updated Thar. The vehicle has been reportedly spotted testing on the roads which raise the curiosity amongst the fans. The Thar is a popular range of Mahindra. The recent spy shots reveal that the vehicle is almost ready to hit the market sometime soon.
The upcoming second-gen model will be more spacious as the company has increased the overall dimension of the vehicle. It will be a complete off-road-oriented vehicle along with a comfortable cabin. The vehicle will be focused on attracting daily passengers as well as jeep fans. The boxy off-roader is developed with a hardtop roof design. The structure of the Thar looks attractive and bold.
At the exterior, the new Thar gets regular 7-slat grille, fender-mounted side indicators, flat bonnet, and rounded headlamps. The rear looks equally sportier with the rectangular taillights. It sits on newly designed alloy wheels as well. The new vehicle is likely to be offered with daytime running LEDs and LED elements at the front and rear. It comes with the spare wheel installed on the rear door.
Moving inside the new Thar, it gets many premium bits which makes it different from the previous model. It will be installed with new larger touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity and semi-digital instrument console as well. Additionally, it is likely to get steering mounted controls, automatic climate control, and cruise control.
The new Thar will be offered with high-level safety features to comply with the new norms. It comes with safety dual airbags, reverse parking sensors, speed alert system and many more. It will be powered by a BS6-compliant 2.0-litre oil-burner unit which will make 140 PS of max power and 300 Nm of torque. The engine will be combined with a 5-speed MT. The customers can also select from a four-wheel-drive-system. It is likely to be priced between Rs 10 lakh – Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
