2020 Hyundai Creta Now Available in China: Priced About Rs 13 lakhs

The all-new Hyundai Creta has already reached the China showroom. The updated Creta is available to buy in China automotive market and the price starts from nearly Rs 13 lakhs. For the Indian market, Hyundai India will showcase the next-generation Creta at Auto Expo 2020 to be held in February next year. The exterior appearance and cabin features of China-spec ix25 SUV is distinct from the current-gen Creta SUV.

By introducing the new second-gen Creta, the company aims at maintaining the same popularity and demand which current-gen version received. It will also enhance the sales overall of the model. The existing Create SUV is one of the best-selling cars in the range. The facelifted model will compete against Kia Seltos and MG Hector that are most prevailing cars in Indian market at present. Earlier, the car was spied in China with a Moonlight Cloud paint scheme.

Although, the car is now fully revealed in the latest images. The India-spec model will run on BS-6 compliant petrol and diesel powertrains to comply with the new vehicle norms. From outside, the new Creta looks like Hyundai Palisade SUV. At the front, the car gets a husky front grille, headlamps placed under the bonnet edge. It features LED DRLs located on the head of the projector headlamps. At the rear, the new model is equipped with LED tail lamps as well.

The new Create SUV looks different when compared with the existing version. It is now outfitted with 17-inches machine cut dual-tone alloy wheels and shark fin antenna. It is developed in the company’s latest ‘Sensuous 2.0’ design platform. The interior is more luxurious and feature-packed than before. It is integrated with a new steering wheel design, central air vents, a wider floating central display and fully digital instrument cluster highlighting dual section display with a mid placed MID.

The India-specs model will come with a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system which will highlight Hyundai’s Blue Link connected car app and telematics solution. It will be the third connected car that can feature eSIM or embedded sim card similar to the Venue. It will also support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard highlighting a voice command virtual assistant. The left screen displays speedometer and fuel level and the right screen shows a tachometer and engine temperature bar.

In terms of safety features, the updated Creta gets an electric parking brake with auto hold function, a 360-degree camera, and cruise control. It will also come with keyless entry, a start-stop button, auto wipers, auto headlamps, and climate control as well. The China-specs model is 4,300mm in length, 1,790mm in width and 1,620mm in height. It sports 2,610mm of wheelbase. The interior is more spacious and comfortable compared to the existing model.

The all-new ix25 SUV is powered by the same Kia Seltos powertrain. It gets 1.4-litre turbo petrol motor which makes140 PS of max power and 242 Nm peak torque combined with 6MT or 7 DCT transmission. The 1.5 litres naturally aspirated petrol unit delivers 115 PS max power and 144 Nm peak torque combined with CVT or 6 MT transmission option. The 1.5-litre turbo diesel unit produces 115 PS max power and 250 Nm peak torque combined with a 6 MT or 6 AT. The 5-seater version will cost between Rs 10-15 lakh. The 7-seater Creta will come later after the launch.
