2020 Audi SQ7

The 2020 Audi SQ7 may look just like any other standard Q7 on the road. But there is certainly nothing standard about this performance SUV under the hood. It gets all the sportier bits and one powerful engine. The SUV starts at 96,420 Euros (Rs 74.34 lakh) but unfortunately will not make it to the Indian markets any time soon.

The Tech in it:

The 2020 Audi SQ7 features a 4.0 Biturbo V8 engine which pumps out an impressive 435bhp power and also a ridiculous 900Nm torque! This power can push the large SUV from 0 to 100kmph in just 4.8 seconds. Considering this is a full-sized SUV and not a sleek sports car, that number is extremely fast.

An electrically powered compressor (EPC) assists the two turbochargers whenever the load demand from the accelerator is high while the available energy in the exhaust gas is still low. In this case, it supplies fresh air, which is important for combustion. As a result, the tremendous torque is available instantly at any time – when accelerating from low speeds and particularly when starting off.

The new SQ7 also has some clever tricks in the handling department. The rear wheels turn by up to 5 degrees in the opposite direction at low speed, which increases agility. On the highway, these wheels steer slightly in the same direction to promote stability. It also gets standard sport air suspension and progressive steering, whose ratio becomes increasingly direct as the steering angle increases. This vastly improves the driving dynamics.

Cockpit

The exterior of the 2020 Audi SQ7 is similar to the standard Q7 save for a few S specific details. It gets twin slats in the Singleframe, exterior mirror housings in aluminum look, and the four characteristic exhaust tailpipes with round, chrome trims. The blade in the bumper has a three-dimensional shape, and the underbody protection at the rear looks even sturdier. There are also the 20-inch cast-aluminium wheels in 5-spoke turbine design.

The interiors, on the other hand, also gets an update similar to the Q7. It now comes with a new touchscreen infotainment system, Audi Virtual cockpit system with the latest interface. There is also a new display in the center console that integrates the climate control settings. Valcona leather finished seats, illuminated door sill trims with aluminium inlays with the S logo, optional sports seats, massage function, LTE, Wi-Fi hotspot, voice control and more are part of the package.
