The 2019 Yamaha FZ16 with ABS has been spied testing for the first time. The addition of the ABS feature makes the bike more relaible. The motorcycle is set to hit the Indian roads by the early 2019. Yamaha makes some changes and updates on the 2019 FZ16 along with the implementation of the anti lock braking system feature. The most prominent update stands out to be the new headlight. The headlamp cluster is being changed and camouflaged.

The 2019 Yamaha FZ16 carry forwards it’s mascular appearance but now sports a heavily revised body work. The fuel tank on the 2019 FZ16 remains the same and retains the chunky shape. However, the 2019 FZ16 is likely to come modified with new design. The spy images clearly shows the ABS module on the front wheel while nothing could be marked on the rear wheels from the images because of its low resolution. With the addition of anti lock braking system feature and few other changes, the price of the 2019 Yamaha FZ16 is likely to increase by Rs 10,000.

The 2019 Yamaha FZ16 will get new larger shrouds along the side. The shrouds cover maximum cylinder area of the engine. The layered design of it has been borrowed from the R15 v3.0 fairing. Besides that the 2019 Yamaha FZ16 sits on new alloy wheels, which are also inspired from the R15 v3.0. The other noticeable updates including the addition of belly pan, different exhaust end as well as a single seat replacing the split seats on the current model. The motorcycle will feature a redesigned plastic body work on the sides and at the rear. However the 2019 Yamaha FZ16 sports the same tail lamp and it’s metal holder as seen on the current FZ16.

The second generation FZ16 was launched four years back. The bike was renamed as FZ FI v2.0 in 2014 and was powered by the smaller 149 cc engine with fuel injection. The FZ FI was introduced with additional features including the rear disc brake and the new colour scheme. The FZ16 test mule was powered by the same engine that powers the FZ FI but the power output is expected to be enhanced further. A five speed gearbox will come matted to the engine.
