Maruti Suzuki WagonR Spied At Dealership Before launch

It’s raining new cars in the Indian market and Maruti’s latest offering will be the new Wagon R. The new Wagon R carries forward the tallboy design, albeit with a completely new exterior. With production of the new Wagon R underway, Maruti has started dispatching the cars to the dealerships. The launch is slotted to happen on 23rd January 2019, and the car was spotted at a dealership recently. The new Wagon R gets a rectangular grille with a chrome strip in the centre. The headlamps are large and swept back. It gets a vertically stacked tail lamps at the rear.

We have all the information on the car, thanks to a leaked brochure. The car will be available in three variants LXi, VXi and ZXi. There will 2 engines on offer, the 1 Litre 3 Cylinder K10B engine (67 BHP @ 5,500 rpm and 90 Nm of torque@ 3,500 rpm) and the 1.2 Litre, 4 Cylinder K12M engine (82 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque @ 4,200 rpm). The car measures 3655 X 1620 X 1675 mm(LxWxH). Wheelbase is at 2435 mm and the turning radius is at 4.7m. The new Wagon R is 19 mm longer, 145 mm wider, 5 mm taller.

6 choices of colours are on offer viz., Superior White, Silky Silver, Magma Grey, Autumn Orange, Nutmeg Brown and Poolside Blue. Manual gearbox and Auto Gear Shift will be available from launch. The Wagon R is based on the HEARTECT platform. The kerb weight stands at 805 Kg for the MT LXi variant and goes to 845 Kg for the AGS ZXi variant.

The LXi variant sits on 13-inch wheels, whereas the VXi and the ZXi variants sit on 14-inch wheels. Suspension setup is a MacPherson strut at the front and a torsion beam at the rear. Fuel tank capacity is at 32 Litre.
