Today Renault India launched the 2019 variant of the Renault Kwid with a host of new features and updates. Launched at a starting price of Rs 2.66 Lakh the new Kwid is much better compared to the previous model.
The main highlight of the new Kwid is the safety features it offers as standard, to comply with the upcoming government norms. A Driver side airbag, ABS, EBD(Electronic Brake Distribution), seat-belt pretensioners and speed alert comes as standard. The Kwid is now a whole lot safer.
In the interior, it gets the same 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity options like Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Infotainment system also gets a ‘Push to talk’ button for interacting through voice commands. And with all these features added, the Kwid still maintains the same price as before. Starting from Rs 2.66 lakhs and up to Rs.4.63 lakhs for the top of the line Climber AMT variant.
Powering the Kwid is the same set of engines as before. An 800cc engine offering 54ps of power and 72 Nm of torque. And a bigger 1-liter engine offering 68ps power and 91 Nm of torque. While the 800c engine gets a 5-speed manual, the 1 Litre engine also offers AMT gearbox. AMT gearbox also gets the crawl function.
Renault offers 6 colors to choose from – Fiery Red, Planet Grey, Moonlight Silver, Ice Cool White, Outback Bronze and Electric Blue for the Climber Edition. It comes with a 4 year / 1 lakh km warranty along with Road Side Assistance. With all these new features without extra cost, New Kwid now offers good competition in its segment. Competing with Hyundai Santro, Datsun Redi-Go and Tata Tiago.
