Renault India has finally released a modified version of its popular compact SUV, the Duster in India. In the latest updates, the SUV has received many innovative features which were essential to compete with its new rivals in the Indian market. The all-new 2019 variant now gets some innovative tweaks inside the cabin.
The French automotive maker has announced the new Duster with an affordable price tag, starting from just INR 7.99 lakh. The most amazing news is that the company has also introduced an automatic version of the Duster which is RxS diesel-AMT variant. The remarkable addition to the range is the all-new RxS diesel-AMT variant which is available at a price tag of Rs 12.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The top-spec RxZ AMT variant has some additional feature which is offered at a considerably high price. The company has also removed some variants including Standard diesel unit and RxL variant. So now, there are only three variants of Duster available that are RxE, RxS and RxZ. The all-wheel drive is only offered for the top-specs RxZ diesel variant.
Duster RxL was earlier sold with CVT automatic gearbox option which is replaced with all-new RxS variant. The new Duster is now equipped with a feature-packed touchscreen infotainment system which sports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity and also highlights a capacitive touchscreen panel. The new variant also gets high-level safety features such as ABS with EBD as standard.
Renault Duster is available in both petrol and diesel variant. So, it is powered by the same 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. The petrol unit generates 105bhp of peak power at 5,600rpm/ 142Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm and combined with a 5-speed manual as well as a CVT automatic gearbox.
The diesel unit further comes in two choices. The low trim generates 84bhp at 3,750rpm/ 200 Nm of torque at 2,000rpm whereas, the top specs churns out 108bhp at 3,900rpm and 248Nm of torque at 2,250rpm. The low power diesel unit is combined with a 5-speed manual gearbox and the top trim comes with 6-speed manual as well as an AMT gearbox option.
These were few updates which the company offers in the updated model. The updated Renault Duster SUV rival against the likes of updated Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, and the Mahindra TUV300.
