The 2019 Mercedes Benz GLE SUV has been officially unveiled by the German luxury car maker. This premium SUV will be the most advanced offering from Mercedes Benz, featuring a host new updates. The 2019 Mercedes Benz GLE will make its global debut at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. The GLE premium SUV is expected to be launched in the country sometime in 2019. The SUV is developed based on the Modular High Architecture platform. The MHA platform is related to the Modular Rear Architecture platform which underpins the C, E and S-Class.
The 2019 Mercedes Benz GLE comes with a dull looking exterior with a pair of chunky slats on the grille. The bumper design of the SUV is borrowed from the upcoming off roaders from Mercedes Benz including the X – Class and the head lamps are flow more on to the fenders. The windows are finished chrome highlights around it. At the rear the GLE premium SUV features narrower LED lamps, windshield and two exhaust outlet, which are likely to turn out to be the fake garnishes in lower engine variants.
The 2019 Mercedes Benz SUV has increased in dimension than before and an optional third row of seating will also be offered. The features on the interior of the SUV includes rectangular AC vents, 12.3 inch display, upgraded infotainment system with voice recognition and other services capable of being operated through Mercedes Benz User Experience and a host of driver assistance system including the Active Tailback Assist. Besides that the 2019 Mercedes Benz GLE has got soft touch button on steering wheels and the improved 4Matic all wheel drive system.
According to the initial reports the 2019 Mercedes Benz GLE SUV will be powered by a 3.0 litre inline straight six petrol engine paired to a 48 V motor. The engine churns out a power of 362 bhp and produces a peak torque of 500 Nm. The other engine options are 2.0 litre petrol, 2.0 litre diesel and 2.9 litre straight six diesel engine. A nine speed automatic transmission comes paired to all the engines. When launched, the 2019 Mercedes Benz GLE will compete on the likes of BMW X3, JAGUAR I-Pace and Audi Q5.
