The 2019 Jeep Compass Trailhawk has been launched in our country today. The Fiat Chrysler Automobiles [FCA] has priced the all new Trailhawk at Rs 26.8 lakhs [ex showroom]. The 2019 Trailhawk will be retailed nationwide at all 82 FCA – all brand retail touch points across the country. The vehicle is offered with Jeep Active Drive 4×4 Low. The rider can now choose a new ‘Rock Mode’ in terrain selection, along with Auto, Snow, Mud and Sand modes.
Commenting on the Trailhawk’s price announcement, Kevin Flynn – President and Managing Director, FCA India said, “We are offering a lot more of the Jeep DNA in the Trailhawk which we believe Indian customers will appreciate and enjoy. Our Trail Rated All-wheel Drive SUV has all the core ingredients that a Jeep SUV should have, and additionally delivers to the Indian’s customer’s aspirations of intelligent driving aids and equipment for both the urban and adventurous, prioritises the safety of occupants and makes you a part of a long lineage that the global Jeep community is proud of.”
The new Trailhawk continues to carry the same styling and design, the only exception being the hood finished in matte black. The off roader sits on 17-inch redesigned wheels along with the tyres getting better sidewall protection. The other features on the new Trailhawk include a revised bumper to increase the approach angle together along with an increased ground clearance of 20 mm.
The cabin of the off roader is seen with an overall black interior theme with red accents together with the red embroidered stitching on the upholstery and steering wheel. An 8.4-inch UConnect infotainment system with built-in navigation and 7-inch multi-information display will be offered on the cabin of the new Trailhawk. Besides that FCA has provided features include cruise control, engine stop/start and a panoramic sunroof as well on the vehicle.
FCA India has equipped the new Jeep Compass Trailhawk with more than 50 safety and security features including six airbags with side full curtain airbags, Roll Over Mitigation, speed warning system, anti-lock brake system (ABS) with electronic brake distribution (EBD), hill descent control (HDC), electronic stability control (ESC), electronic parking brake (EPB), traction control system (TCS), cornering fog lamps and pedestrian protection.
Powering the 2019 Jeep Compass Trailhawk is a BSVI compliant, 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that churns out a power of 173 PS and produces a peak torque of 350 Nm. A 9-speed automatic transmission comes matted to the engine. In terms of pricing the new Jeep Compass Trailhawk competes on the likes of the Hyundai Tuscon AWD, the Tata hexa 4X4, the Mahindra XUV 500 AWD and the recently launched new Isuzu V Cross.
