Hyundai launches the updated i20 Active. The new 2019 Hyundai i20 Active gets new safety features. But, it remains the same under the hood with little to no mechanical changes. The new safety features are in place to meet the new mandatory safety norms.
The new car is offered in three variants – S, SX, and the SX dual-tone, and is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. All three variants get standard safety features like parking sensors, reverse camera and speed alert system along with driver and passenger seat belt alerts. It also features 6 airbags and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
The car, however, does not get any design changes. The interior features also remain the same which includes a modern 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that will support Android Auto, Apple CarPlay.
Under the hood, the car still runs on the same 1.2-litre petrol engine. This delivers 82bhp of max and 114Nm of peak torque. It is also available in a 1.4-litre diesel engine which makes 89bhp power and 220Nm of peak torque. The petrol engine is combined with a 5-speed manual gearbox transmission whereas, the diesel engine comes with a 6-speed gearbox.
With the new safety feature, the Hyundai is also hiking the price of the new i20 Active by Rs 2,000 over the old model. The car now starts at Rs 7.74 lakh (ex-showroom).
