Honda is facing the heat in the compact SUV segment after the launch of new contenders. Hyundai Venue has been doing pretty well and Mahindra XUV 300 is also under the top 5 selling compact SUV.
So Honda has come up with a new variant for the WR-V. The new V variant sits just under the top variant VX. It bridges the gap between the S and VX variant. The V variant comes with lots of features from the VX variant while still remaining a bit cheaper. The V variant is only introduced for the Diesel variant of the car. In fact, the S and the VX variant also get new features.
The exterior in the V variant gets Headlamp Integrated Signature LED DRLs and position lamps, Front Fog lamps, Turn indicators on ORVM, Gunmetal finish R16 Multi-spoke Alloy Wheel, Chrome Door Handles and Rear Micro Antenna.
The interior also gets some addition, a 17.7cm Advanced Touchscreen Infotainment with AVN, Steering mounted controls for HFT, Audio, Voice command and Cruise control, Automatic Climate Control, One Push Start/Stop Button with white and red illumination, Honda Smart Key System with Keyless Remote, Front Centre Armrest with Storage Console, and Tilt and Telescopic Power Steering (EPS). The whole interior is finished in Urban Sophisticated Black and Silver upholstery.

Along with that the V variant also comes with various safety features which include Honda’s active and passive safety technologies. SUch as Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE TM) Body Structure, Rear Parking sensor, Front Passenger seat belt reminder, Dual SRS Front Airbags, Anti-lock Brake system (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Intelligent Pedal (Brake Over-Ride System), High Speed Alert, Pedestrian injury mitigation technology and Multi-angle rearview camera with guidelines.
The Honda WR-V V variant comes with a 1.5L i-DTEC Diesel Engine 99BHP and 200 Nm of torque, it comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The V variant comes at a price of Rs 9.95 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi).
