2019 BMW R1250GS and the BMW R1250RT is finally unveiled. The famous bike maker has also announced the latest engine for these bikes. The new sports bikes will be equipped with an all-new dynamic 1254cc boxer twin engine. So, the company has finally replaced the 1170cc of the early models. The new bikes are also developed with ‘ShiftCam Technology’ that offers variable valve timing. These will offer 1.5mm larger bore and 3mm extra stroke. The addition of the brand new motor will increase the smoothness of rides, decrease idling speed, and increase the power/ torque figures.
2019 BMW R 1250 GS also get some major cosmetic modifications and advanced features. The new 1254cc motor will generate up to 138PS of power, more than 11PS compared to the existing engine and 143Nm of peak torque, more than 18Nm. The German bikes maker confirmed that there are many other modifications in the new models such as the latest gearbox layout with a modernized wet slipper clutch, fuel tank, piston-based cooling, twin-jet injection valve, and a unique knock sensor system. The new engine will offer decreased emissions and fuel consumption. The GS variant will feature 1,507mm wheelbase, but it is assumed to be heavier than the existing range.
Both the new bikes will be outfitted with a modern 6.5-inch full-color TFT display and also the latest engine management system which the company calls BMS-O. Moreover, the rider will also get to experience the extreme rides with new features that include Hill Start and ASC stability control as standard and extra dynamic riding modes highlighting Riding Modes Pro system. Both the next-gen bikes will be the most advanced adventure motorcycles. There are no more details revealed officially, but we expect the 2019 models to launch soon next year.
