The 2019 Facelift Baleno Spied for the first time. Expected to launch soon.
The name Baleno was reborn with launch of its premium hatch in 2015 and since then the hatch has not received any facelift. Maruti Suzuki has recently launched the 2018 Ertiga and the updated WagonR is scheduled to launch on 23rd January. Well, Maruti Suzuki has been updating it’s product line up and thus the Baleno too will be receiving a life cycle update.
Recently, the 2019 Baleno was spied exposing the front of the updated baleno. The facelift doesn’t carry much difference from its outgoing model. Although, the front bumper has new air dampers with larger fog lamp housing. The Grill is reprofiled along with the headlamps. The Interior is expected to get few updates while the features list could get updated. The colored MID display is too expected to make its entry to the hatch as seen earlier with the Ertiga facelift.
The improvised HEARTECT platform will be an added safety along with some safety features as standard in LL the variants like speed sensing auto door lock, speed alert system, dual air bag and reverse parking sensors. Additionally, the 2019 Baleno is expected to get the projector headlamps across variants.
The powering is expected to be similar as before with a 1.2-litre petrol which generates 83 bhp @ 6000 rpm with a peak torque of 115 Nm @ 4000 rpmand 1.3-litre diesel producing 74 bhp @ 4000 rpm with a maximum torque of 190 Nm @ 2000 rpm. Both the engines are mated to a 5 speed manual with an option of CVT. Looking at the Maruti’s vision towards Electric and hybrid vehicles we can expect the Baleno may get the mild hybrid alike the recently launched Ertiga.
The Baleno is already making an average sales of 14,000 each month and with the facelift Maruti is attempting to increase the number. The Baleno is competing against rivals like Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo.
