TVS Motors has redesigned the crowd favorite TVS Apache RTR 180. It now gets a new color scheme, new crash guards and instrument console. But it still features the older Apache design while the 200 4V and the 160 4V follow the updated design theme.
The 2019 TVS Apache RTR 180 now features race inspired graphics compared to the plain and minimalist older design. A speedometer also a gets a white backlight update. The crash guards now have frame sliders built into them. This improves both the look and functionality. It also gets forged handlebar end weights. The seats get a new Alcantara like finish.
The motorcycle will be offered in two variants – standard and with ABS. The standard model is priced at INR 84,578 ex-showroom. The ABS variant, on the other hand, costs INR 95,392 ex-showroom. Also, the 2019 RTR 180 is available in 5 color schemes – Pearl White, Gloss Black, T Grey, Matte Blue, and Matte Red
The new RTR 180 sports a 270mm front and a 200mm rear petal disc brakes. This can be paired with optional dual channel ABS. The motorcycle sits on the same double cradle frame with telescopic front suspension and twin shock absorbers at the rear.
Mechanically, the motorcycle remains the same as the outgoing model. It runs on a 177.4 cc single cylinder air-cooled engine. The motor produces a maximum power of 16.4 hp at 8,500 RPM and a peak torque of 15.5 Nm at 6,500 RPM. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. TVS claims a top speed of 114 kmph.
