2019 Alto K10 Launched In The Country, Gets More Safety Features

Maruti Suzuki India has launched the 2019 Alto K10. The major update is the addition to safety features to make the cars comply with the new AIS-145 safety norms, which has come into effect from this month itself. The additional safety features on the updated Alto K10 has raised the price of the car to some extent. The Alto K10 is now priced starting from Rs 3.65 lakhs (for the base LX variant) going up to Rs 4.44 lakhs for the top of the end VXi trim. All the above mentioned prices are ex showroom (Delhi) price.

In order to meet the new AIS-145 safety norms, Maruti Suzuki Ltd has equipped their entry level hatchback with a host of safety features. The new AIS-145 safety norms state that all new vehicles sold in India must sport safety features like ABS with EBD, driver airbag, reverse parking sensors, driver and co-driver seatbelt reminder a speed alert system and a manual override for the central locking system as standard. However, the driver air bag was already provided on the high end variant of the Maruti Alto K10 as an option offering. Other than the addition of the above mentioned safety features, the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 has not received any changes.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has recently launched the new Eeco van in the country with updated safety features in order to meet the AIS-145 safety norms. The Prices of the Maruti Suzuki Eeco were increased in the range of Rs. 400 to Rs. 23,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Maruti Suzuki Eeco was already offered with the airbag previously. Besides that, almost all the other models of the Maruti Suzuki Ltd starting from the new gen WagonR comes equipped with the fore mentioned safety features as standard.

The 2019 Alto K10 will remain unchanged mechanically. Therefore, the new Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 will continue to be powered by the same 998cc, four-cylinder petrol engine that churns out a maximum power of 67bhp at 6,000rpm and produces a peak torque of 90 Nm at 3,500rpm. The motor comes paired with either five speed manual or automatic gearbox. The Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 is said to return a mileage of 24.07km/l.
