TVS Motor Company has recently introduced a latest modified Star City Plus commuter motorcycle. The bike is now available in two new dual-tone shades. The affordable TVS bike is available at Rs 52,907 ex-showroom (Delhi). The company has revealed to new shades including new grey/black and red/black dual-tone color design. It is also equipped with a modified larger twin-shaded mirror. Earlier, the TVS Star City Plus was modernized in September 2017. In the previous update, the bike received an updated exterior, 3D elements, and a black grab rail.
The bike is developed with Synchronised Braking Technology (SBT) which is the company’s version of coupled brakes. The motorcycle features drum brakes: front 130 mm unit and 110 mm rear unit. For advanced safety, the assembly utilizes front and rear brakes concurrently, which helps to decrease the possibilities of locking either wheel and losing traction. It is equipped with an all-digital multi-function console highlighting econometer. It sits on the same 17-inch 5-spoke black alloy wheels.
The 2018 TVS Star City+ draws power from the same TVS ‘Ecothrust’ 110 cc single-cylinder, four-stroke engine which generates 8.4 PS of max power at 7,000 rpm and 8.7 Nm torque at 5,000 rpm. The engine is combined with a 4-speed constant mesh speed constant mesh gearbox. It features front telescopic oil damped suspension and a rear 5 step adjustable hydraulic shock absorber. The Wheel Base and Ground Clearance remains1260 mm and 172 mm, respectively. The top speed is claimed at 86 Kmpl.
The TVS Star City Plus has already been declared as the ‘No.1 Economy Motorcycle In 2018′. Further, over the last three years, the Star City Plus has also been the high-rated bike as per the J D Power customer survey. The stylish appearance and the affordable price has attracted many young customers. The present competitors of the TVS Star City Plus are Yamaha Saluto RX, Honda Dream Yuga and Bajaj Discover 110.
