Maruti Suzuki Cars are now 95% recoverable and 85% recyclable!

The tall boy Maruti Suzuki WagonR got a refresh in 2019 with its third generation. It is based on the Heartect platform which means it is bigger and is more spacious. It also gets a brand new design and a host of new features.

The new WagonR is priced a little higher than the older generation. It costs INR 4,000 more for the base variant at INR 4.19 lakh. But the top end models sees an increase of INR 34,000 and now costs INR 5,69 lakh. (All prices are ex-showroom).

Hence Maruti dealers trying to clear out stock of the older generation model by offering massive discounts and benefits. Many dealers are offering discounts of up to INR 1,00,000 on the older model. They are still essentially new cars but are a generation old now. This is a good time for interested buyers to whom the new features and additions are not required.

Maruti launched the 2019 Maruti Suzuki WagonR in January 2019. Maruti has also sold over 22 lakh WagonR units since its first launch back in 1998. The car rose to popularity as the ‘tall boy’. Maruti tried to increase the cabin space while keeping the overall dimensions of the car as compact as possible.

However, Maruti calls the 3rd gen model as the Big New WagonR for a reason. The Heartect platform makes the car slightly bigger in dimensions. It is 19 mm longer, 145 mm wider and 5 mm taller than the outgoing WagonR. The biggest change, however, is in the engine options. The 2019 model also comes in a 1.2-liter K12M engine, similar to the ones on the Swift, Baleno, and Ignis. The new WagonR also gets a ton of features upgrades like 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and more.
