Jawa 350 Special: 2018 Jawa 350 Special has been rolled out in the European market. The 350cc range is their traditional bikes which are manufactured in three standard variants. It is a completely retro-style model with all traditional design. In the year 2016, Mahindra obtained 60% stake in Classic Legends Private Limited, that holds BSA and also partners Jawa Moto India so, the 350 range could also release in India later. However, Mahindra is working to carry the Jawas in India. On the other hand, Jawa 350 Special will be the third-gen bikes produced fro Europe.
In terms of designing, the 350 special is completely unique and carries a traditional look with retro shades. It comes with fairing which is inspired by the Jawa 350 OHC. The smooth metallic chrome elements make it more glossy and alluring which covers front fender, exhaust, indicator housing and rearview mirror. The bike is colored in two shades blend of red and silver. The rounded headlamps help it to maintain a typical nostalgic appearance. Some more exciting additions to the traditional bike are bar end mirrors, upswept exhaust pipes, rear and side carrier and front support polished in black/chrome.
The 350 special also compliant European standards including Euro IV emission norms and thus features Anti Lock Braking System. The Special variant is powered by an extremely powerful 397cc, parallel twin engine which produces 27.6 bhp of max power at 6,500 rpm and 30.6 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. Shinray has produced the motor of this bike whereas fuel injection system of Delphi.
The kerb weight of the bike is 171 kgs and a larger fuel tank of 17-liter capacity compared to the 350 OHC. It comes with dual pod analog meters, dual exhausts, rear/ front disc brakes and foldable pillion footrest. The Wheelbase and Seat height are 1350mm and 820mm, respectively. The front suspension is telescopic forks 150mm and rear suspension, telescopic unit 80mm. About the braking system, the bike features Disc 305mm front brake and Drum 160mm rear brake.
Mahindra can launch the Jawa in India in the year 2019 whereas, the BSA will be only launched at USA and UK. The mechanical specs and some features might be changed while launched in India. Although, don’t expect the 660 Vintage and 350 OHC in the country. In India, the Jawa’s engine could be based on the Mahindra Mojo. It could lock horns with the popularity of the Royal Enfield Cafe Racer.
